Early one Sunday morning in June, Adam Parzuchowski was driving to work when he caught a glimpse of a wrecked car in his rearview mirror. Something compelled him to turn back. Arriving at the crash site, he found the driver still inside, unresponsive, with flames beginning to spread. Acting instinctively, Adam forced open the vehicle and pulled the man to safety just moments before it was fully engulfed. His quick action saved a life — and came as no surprise to his brother Knights at Council 13450 at St. Augustine Church in Howell, Michigan, including his father. Knights are formed to serve, to protect, and to step forward when others need help. Adam lived that mission in a decisive moment, embodying what it means to be a Knight of Columbus.
